Little Prisoners update

First of all I’d like to thank all of you who bought the book and have left such fantastic feedback and comments both on my Facebook page, and on Amazon. I really appreciate it, especially about this particular book, as I’m sure you’ll all have guessed, Olivia and Ashton have a special place in my heart.

Of course all of our foster children mean the world to us, but if you’ve read the book then you’ll know what I mean 🙂

A few have asked for an update on the children so here goes:

Olivia, after a few weeks of changing her mind, eventually decided to call her new puppy, Casper, (after the friendly ghost) but she gave her poor foster carers the runaround for a while, insisting that they use her temporary names for the dog until she made up her mind. They absolutely adore her and are currently in the process of applying to adopt her, which is wonderful.

Ashton is really, really happy with his carers and will stay with them until he is at least 18. Both children are still in therapy and will continue this until CAMHS are confident that they can cope with their emotions and understand their past.

As for the people who abused these kids, it has taken a couple of years to get to court because of the scale of the whole thing, and the amount of people involved. The whole family relocated due to being ostracised by their community, and I have recently heard that the court case is coming to an end and it looks likely that there will be quite a few custodial sentences.

On a happier note, all our family get to speak to the kids quite regularly on the phone, and their speech is now quite normal. We have recent photos of them and they really have blossomed, it’s wonderful to see. 🙂

Speak soon, love Casey xx
