Hello everybody 🙂
First of all I have to say it’s been so amazing ‘meeting’ and talking to you all on Facebook. Some of your stories have been so inspiring and your lovely comments are a joy to read, so thank you all very, very much.
Next, many of you have asked about the kids and how they are doing, so I thought it was time to give you another update. Justin is doing okay. He still visits us regularly and has his ups and downs but he does manage to pull himself up more often these days. He still has problems with his mum and often searches for more answers, but unfortunately there are none to come. I hope that one day he learns to accept this but in the meantime he has all of us, and he’s looking forward to spending this Christmas with Kieron and Lauren. He’s decided he needs to share himself out with us, and that it’s only fair we all get to have him in turn 🙂
Sophia remains with her uncle and aunt and I believe her condition has now stabilised somewhat and she is able to properly control her symptoms. She no longer sees a counsellor and has a regular boyfriend. She is training to be an actress (would you believe!) and apparently is doing really well at college.
Ashton and Olivia are with their long term carers and are really happy. Recently Olivia gave evidence by video in a court case that saw a further three men get locked away for their crimes. It seems the whole case was a lot bigger than we first believed and a whole lot of other people were involved. The case continues, but I know the children are now able to get on with their lives. They both have regular CAMHS input and counselling.
Spencer, although happy to be back with his mum, and having help to deal with the truth about his past, unfortunately has had quite a few slip ups. He continues to break the law now and again and gets himself into trouble, but at least now his mum has a team of people helping her to keep her family together. He did spend a few more months in care but then went back home. It’s proving really difficult to undo all the damage that Spencer suffered as a young child, but with love and perseverance, things are starting to get better.
As for my family, well Riley and David are now fully fledged resite carers, but I’ll tell you more about that in the books. And I’ll let you into a secret, which will be revealed in about three books time 🙂 They now have a gorgeous little girl and are very happy with their lot. As for Kieron and Lauren, well they have a little girl too, but again, I don’t want to spoil the stories for you. Anyway, as you can imagine, Mike and me are kept very busy with our little family, but having so many grandchildren is making me feel quite old! I’m seriously thinking about teaching them to call me Auntie Casey rather than Nan 🙂
Finally, thank you to those who have given me such positive reviews on Amazon. I’m just thrilled with them and it really does help others to decide whether to buy a book or not. I really appreciate it.
And guess what…..It’s almost Christmas again! Woo hoo! I’m sure you know what I’m like by now, and I’ve told the kids that this year the tree will be up as soon as Bonfire night is over and done with 🙂 Speak soon, take care, love Casey xx
